Budget Billing
Want to pay the same amount each month?
The Budget Billing program is based on your previous year’s average kilowatt usage and will be reevaluated every six months. In the event the monthly budget amount is adjusted, members will receive notice of their new Budget Billing amount in June of each year.
Payment of the monthly budget amount is required by the due date on your monthly billing statement. Failure to pay the budget amount may result in penalties, termination of service and/or removal from the Budget Billing program.
Pay Now
If you do not want to register as a user with SMARTHub, but still want to pay your bill online, Pay Now gives you this option. You need to have your account number available and your Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
ONLINE ACCOUNT
Dakota Energy Cooperative offers the latest technology to help you manage your electric account 24/7 by computer, tablet or smartphone with a free online application called SmartHub.

- View your bill and bill history
- Make or schedule a payment and manage payment methods
- View and track your daily and monthly usage
- Sign up for automatic bill pay
- Notify Dakota Energy Cooperative of account issues
- Sign up and receive e-mail or text alert notifications

Automatic Bill Payment
For a hassle-free, no-fee method of payment, sign up for Automated Bill Pay (ACH). Payment is automatically deducted from your bank account or credit card each month.
PAY-BY-PHONE
You can pay your bill by simply calling our toll-free service. You will need your monthly bill available. Call 1-855-938-3403 to pay your bill with a debit or credit card.
