Journeyman Electrician:
SUMMARY
Dakota Energy Cooperative is seeking a qualified Journeyman Electrician to be based at its Miller office. This position is responsible for safely installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and motors. The Journeyman Electrician will also work directly with members and the public, respond to service needs, and represent the Cooperative through reliable and professional service.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential, commercial, and industrial electrical wiring and equipment.
- Diagnose, test, and repair electric motors.
- Prepare estimates for electrical wiring projects and installations.
- Respond to trouble calls, outages, and other service needs outside normal working hours, as directed.
- Install and maintain meters and load-management equipment.
- Assist members with electrical, wiring, and load-management questions.
- Complete job tickets, time sheets, reports, and other required records.
- Properly operate and maintain assigned trucks, tools, equipment, inventory, and shop materials.
- Follow all established safety procedures and participate in safety meetings and training.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with members, employees, and the public.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate degree or two-year diploma in electrical construction and maintenance from an accredited vocational school.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician’s License.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical construction and maintenance.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including a trencher.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
