Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week
Gracelyn Fast was recognized for her leadership and scholastic achievements as the KSFY Touchstone Scholar of the Week for May 6-12. Dakota Energy Cooperative presented her with a $100 check.
Fast is a senior at James Valley Christian School in Huron. Cindy Niederbaumer, her high school principal said “Gracelyn is a high-achieving student at our school, taking the most rigorous classes we offer. She strives to keep her 4.0 GPA in hopes of being a medical doctor. While her academic success is superior, it is her caring and compassionate personality that shines the most. As Student Body President, she welcomed each student to the school year at JVC with a personal hand-written letter on their lockers. She addressed the student body on the first day with a challenge to work and be unified this year and look out for each other. Gracelyn really does live out her compassion for others. I am very proud to have her as a future graduate of our school.”
Fast is a member of the Student Council, Cheerleading Captain, Yearbook member, Cross Country, band and student ministries. She is also active in her church youth group and plays piano for church.
Fast’s future plans are to attend Northwestern College in Orange City, IA and pursue a degree in pre-medicine.
Her parents are Jared and Angie Fast of Iroquois. Congratulations, Gracelyn!
